For the bulk of Marvel’s Loki episode 2, titled “The Variant,” the God of Mischief (Tom Hiddleston) teams with the Time Variance Authority’s Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) to chase a timeline variant who, according to Mobius, is an alternate version of Loki himself. The variant is killing the TVA’s Minutemen and collecting their timeline reset charges, which points to the variant having more on the agenda than just hopping through time murdering people....

Lovecraft Country Episode 8 Lovecraft Country has never shied away from depicting the brutal reality of the violence committed against Black people, and this episode is no different. Manifest Season 1 Episode 1 The first episode of Manifest is an exemplary pilot in some ways; the premise of an airplane time-jumping five years is engaging, and the central mystery about what has been done to the passengers is a great hook. Even though only a few characters are able to grab us emotionally from the start, the groundwork is laid for many more to pull us in as the varying stories of the passengers onboard Flight 828 unfold....

WandaVision episode 7 is probably the final episode that is going to adhere to the sitcom format. As we’ve seen in recent episodes, the show is spending more and more time in the confines of the “real” MCU, and with its TV homages now brought up to modern day, it can spend its final two episodes bringing more surprises and wrapping up its incredibly ambitious story. But WandaVision episode 7 is ambitious enough in itself, and like previous episodes, it’s positively full of Marvel Comics Easter eggs and pieces that will likely expand the scope of the MCU as we know it....

It’s never been a more exciting time for both comic fans and comic creators. There’s a growing trend that celebrates the merging of worlds and blurring of lines, both when it comes to the characters within comic books, but also the people who work behind the scenes. Collaboration has been embraced in major ways and suddenly creators are able to provide their own slant on classic characters and reinvent them for a fresh set of eyes....

Nancy Drew Season 2, Episode 4 Leave it to Nancy Drew to humanize a monstrous sea spirit, but that’s precisely what “The Fate of the Buried Treasure” does, an hour that that not just provides context around the life of the woman who ultimately became the Aglaeca, but reveals that she was really just the first in an apparent line of women whose life was ruined by the horrible men of Horseshoe Bay....
